Diversified Scholastic Program: FLEX Program

Green Valley Academy Flexibility Program (FLEX)

Many families have children who excel at learning in alternative programs. For more than 30 years, GVA has offered families flexible programs that allow students to learn through individualized programs.

Green Valley Academy is proud to announce a new program available for youngsters in need of a creative educational plan. We know our students and their wishes. Some find success through hands-on instruction, some with the use of technology, and some with the traditional classroom instruction.

GVA now presents a new program that incorporates what a child requires without “watering down” academic instruction. Your family can construct a learning program that best meets their needs.

For Example: If your child fares better with a shortened school week, we can generate an academic program that accommodates that with a combination of Home Instruction, Workspace Instruction*, and your child attending a regular academic program at our school or local library two days a week.

  • The local school district must approve this FLEX for your child
  • Credit hours are modified because individual instruction is administered, so your child may not be receiving as many instructional hours as those who attend a traditional school placement.
  • Fulfills the obligation of the IEP and NOREP
  • Family will be assigned a PA State Certified teacher as your Scholastic Coach

Sample FLEX Week:

Monday        Instruction on Campus          9-11:30 (2.5) with GVA Scholastic Staff

Tuesday        Instruction on Campus          9-11:30 (2.5) with  GVA Scholastic Staff

Wednesday  Instruction on Campus          9-11:30 (2.5) with GVA Scholastic Staff
